I like this yeast nutrient. happy yeast = good beer
This will boost yeast performance fine. My next purchase will be fermaid-o though. I'm not sure what's in this and am getting conscious about what I put in my brew. Fermaid-o is organic and I'm not sure what's in this.
Though other options exist (DAP being one of them) this one is rather foolproof if you measure it properly. I tended to overlook that not all nutrient works the same and it is worth reading up on.
This is one of the easiest process "upgrades" I have ever utilized. Fermentation begins faster and is more vigorous. I will not make beer or cider without this. Also great in yeast starters when reusing yeast from a previous batch. Just buy it. It's that good.
I wouldn’t think twice about using this yeast nutrient with all beer batches and starters. Highly recommended.
Does what it is supposed to! Great product!
I’ve been brewing for years and never without it. I recommend it .
I have not used this order but it is a reorder and I have liked it in the past
I always use when I make yeast starters and during the boil. Can't say for sure if it does what it says it does, but I'm going to trust the science. Can't hurt for the price!
Worked good for my yeast. Thank you.
We use liquid Wyeast and with adding this nute into the boil, fermentation is smooth and predictable
Easy to use not very expensive and seems to work. I would recommend this to anyone that asked my advice on yeast nutrients.
I use 1/2 tsp. in a 2 L starter to provide a healthy yeast slurry after two days on the stir plate.
Love this stuff. 3rd of a cap in every batch and look out!
need the little guys to not starve , they need to preproduce to
This stuff is great, my fermentations seem to finish faster when I use this. The low price makes this a no brainier, my container has lasted over a year.
Bought it for mead and cider. Both have taken off quite fast. Also really enjoy the container this product comes in.
A lot of my home brews are big beers, 8-12%. I always use this when stepping up my starters on the stir plates. I have 4 beers with recipes that have not changed since 2016, two of those since 2013. My notes always show a change in FG when yeast nutrient is not used. I am an all grain brewer with a Herms setup using a pump.
Absolutely a necessity. Gives your yeasty friends a big boost of vitamins and nutrients that will have them eating sugar and crapping alcohol until they drop. Also, it clears well.
I use for all my brews (ales and lagers). Do I really need? IMO, but don't care. Small price to, IMO, feed yeast and get healthy fermentation.I will continue using Wyeast Yeast Nutrient.
Helps promote future generations of healthy yeast when harvesting
Not sure if it was the nutrient or the yeast I used, but saw fermentation within 6 hours!
never used before usually made own starter but seemed to helped. very good fermentation action and nice foaming
I use this both in my yeast starter and main fermentation and think I get a better start and fermentation than without. I use about 75% of recommended amount. Your experience might depend on your grist and yeast; I'm using mostly pilsner malt and Chico yeast.
Smells terrible but my yeast are happy. Use it in the starter and in the boil kettle.
This fermentation nutrient is time tested and inexpensive so it goes in every batch. It's like a car safety belt, it's usually not needed but...
My fermentations have been exceptionally fast, bot starting and completing, since I started using this instead of generic nutrient.
I add a little to my starters and close to flame out for big batches. Fermentation seems to pick up sooner than without. Adding it also makes me feel like I'm being a good boi brewer, so there's that.
Each 1.5 oz is enough for aprox 30 gal.
Quality packaging, arrived quickly.
I have been home brewing for 24 years and I finally decided to try some yeast nutrient. Trusting wyeast products and liking the low price I gave it a try in a 1.058 IPA with a single pack of rehydrated S04 dry yeast. I have pitched many packets of S04 in the past but I have never before seen this level of fermentation with it. 5 hour lag time and off it went. Finished fermenting at 1.012 in 36 hours at 61 degrees ambient temp.. Just a quarter teaspoon of yeast nutrient late in the boil. I will most definetly continue using this great product.
Can't make a yeast starter without it!
Must have as it contains zinc to feed the yeast. Excellent product to use in yeast starters and in the boil kettle, so the yeast will be healthy and be able to fully attenuate the beer. Some other brands do not contain zinc but this one does!
There is a manufacture date but no expiration. What is the shelf life of this product?
