I'm a big fan of sessionable American stouts, so this is probably my current favorite kit/recipe from Morebeer. I've brewed the extract version a bunch of times and most recently did the all-grain version. I took one star off because the expected OG is way off on this all-grain recipe. The recipe calls for 10# 2row, 1# crystal40, 0.5# roasted barley, 0.25# patent, and 0.25# chocolate.. and for a 5 gallon batch at 70% efficiency that's about 1.060, but the recipe says the OG should be 1.047-51It's a delicious beer though. I have had great success with Wyeast 1056 American yeast, but there are probably others that would work great as well. The ratio of roasted barley, chocolate malt and black patent malt is nearly perfect for my tastes. Plenty of roasty goodness without being too acrid or astringent. Makes for a great breakfast beer!
