        Great strainer-handle should also be stainless

        The strainer is double layered strong and a great size. My only suggestion is that you instead look for one to carry that is ALL stainless. When sanitizing items for use in making beer we prefer no porous materials.

        Big and sturdy! I put this on top of a bucket fermenter and pour the wort through it to collect trub and hops. No need to use a hop spider. And did I say it’s big? Any larger and it wouldn’t fit a standard plastic bucket.

        I'm thinking of using this at the top of my fermenter to strain out the cold break but I'm concerned that the wood handle isn't easy to sanitize. If I remove the wood will the remaining metal band be strong enough to support the weight of the screen?

        Hi Jeff - The metal frame around the wood handle will be strong enough support the weight of the screen. However once the screen is modified it will void the 60 day return policy.
