All Speidels should come with this spigot instead of the plastic ones! HUGE upgrade!

I had problems with both the original plastic Speidel valves and the first-generation (chromed steel) metal ones. These stainless steel valves are smooth and secure - and look like they will last forever.

The stock taps, chrome or plastic, both leak. This is solid and well made and as good as the 1/2 inch ball valve I usually use but doesn’t stick out so far which is nice.

Plastic spigot leaked, stainless spigot has a better design and does not leak.

My only concern with the Speidel plastic fermenters has been the cheap plastic spigots. I fear disaster should one inadvertently break off or otherwise get damaged. These stainless steel replacements are much more robust andless likely to create disasters. Excellent ddition.

This stinless steel spigot does not leak, The plastic spigots provided with the fermenters do leak, which is a pain when they are full of wine.

Much better than the plastic one. Much easier to keep clean.

The spigot that comes with the tank, compared to this stainless one, are garbage. this is what you need. I can't believe they don't supply these as standard. Worth the price

Seems to be very well made.

Could not effectively attach tubing to stock spigot -- lots of leaking & intrusion of air. 1/2 inch ID tubing fits nicely over spigot and with a clamp seals securely. Note for those who use the small 12 L fermenter -- tip of spigot is a bit lower than bottom of fermenter. You need to set the spigot at a 30 degree (or so) angle. Works fine though. Nicely machined and very solid.

The stock spigot is terrible. Unless it's wide open, it draws air. Not what you want when transferring from your fermenter to a keg or any other vessel. This SS spigot says 304 on it, is durable, well made and allows you to regulate the flow without fear of air seepage.

well worth the money

Spigot works great? 1/2" hose went on easily and stayed on while racking to 2ndary fermenter. Never any drips or leaks!

These spigots are definitely better than the plastic ones! These will be easier for bottling too!

AKBeerMan 02/13/18I bought 6 of these to attach to fermenters which are used as "casks for real ale". They work great and I recommend them if you use the fermenters as casks (See my review of 20/30L fermenters of this date). They don't leak even after months of storing beer in them.They are not worth the money if you are going to use them with fermenters that are strictly fermenters. At least I wouldn't buy them because you don't need them on a fermenter. SO REMEMBER! There are 2 reviews here. Use with cask and use with fermenter.

Wish they included this with the original purchase. easier attachment of lines. On off valve is better since it sticks out when open.

Well made and very nice quality

I purchased this spigot at the same time I got my 30L Speidel. I think it is an excellent upgrade and I have never used the original orange plastic spigot (NW10). The chrome spigot has worked perfectly for me and I now have 9 or 10 batches through my Speidel.I see there are some mixed reviews here about it, with the main complaint being that 3/8" tubing is loose and slips off. Simple fix, use the vinyl tubing not the silicon. My 3/8" silicon tubing is also loose and will slip off. It is also a little pricey, so I reserve it for my hot side transfers on brew day. But 3/8" vinyl tubing, at least the stuff I have (and it is marked 3/8" ID 1/2" OD) is tight on the bottom part of the spigot. No clamps needed. It is even a little hard to get on the spigot itself because it so tight. Once it is on it never comes off until I take it off. Hope this tip is a help to others who are having trouble.

I have 2 Speidel fermenters and I purchased one of these to try out. The chrome spigot is a nice upgrade from the plastic ones. The only issue that I have is that the hose bard is neither long enough or wide enough. I use the silicon hoses and they slip off the chrome bard very easily... sometimes you have to literally hold it on the bard while you transfer beer from the fermenter. The standard plastic hoses might work better with this.
