This cap is made of nice sturdy plastic. I drilled it out and fitted a new nipple in it. Now I have an extra spout.

These lids seal well. Having two would be handy for sanitizing or aerating (times when you need to shake the fermenter.) I like the idea of having a spigot but so far have just used the cap on the lower opening due to sanitary concerns with having the spigot attached and collecting debris during ferment.

I don't use the spigot that comes with the Speidel so having an extra cap like this works great for me. Great accessory for a great product.

Always good to be able to seal your fermenters after cleaning and sanitizing for storage.

The Caps are a 5.The Spigots are a 2 because they leak after a few usages.

I have two Spiedel fermenters and I love them. There is one thing however that needs improvement...the standard spigot. It is difficult to clamp a hose onto the spigot since it is not barbed. I have included two photos of an improved hose method. With a bare cap and a 1" hole saw, an improved hose capture is accomplished.

Works as advertised. Not a fan of the glued in gasket but it was still easy enough to remove it to thoroughly clean and remove the glue. I understand why the glue is there - to prevent the lose of the gasket or it falling off during installation, but long term cleaning and sanitizing would he difficult if the gasket remained glued in.

Pretty hard to describe something like this. I needed an extra cap for my Speidel fermenter. This fits perfectly!!!
