Since my yeast orders often ship from the PA(I think) warehouse to my California home, this ice is essential! For orders shipped during summer it is not sufficient.
Ordered ice pack for my shipment. I it worked good.
Saved my yeast during shipping on an unusually hot September. Good idea to spend the extra money since liquid yeast can be quite expensive!
stayed cool enough with a day extra shipping.
keeping it cool yo saved it in the fridge for a hot day
It's an ice pack... It keeps things cold!
worked to keep yeast cool enough - wouldn't last longer in transit
did what it was supposed to do
The ice had all gone by the time I received and opened the package BUT the yeast file was still quite cold so I guess the ice had done a good job.
When this product is shipped properly frozen and added to a cooling packet it seems to maintain an appropriate temperature.
Yeast arrived and though the ice was melted, the yeast was still cool as it was well insulated and buried in the rest of my order. I was very happy and will use the ice every time.
I ordered two liquid yeast packs and two ice packs. Maybe I should have ordered two ice packs for each. They arrived melted and the yeast bags inflated, but the yeast was still viable and my beer fermented out without a lot of stressed yeast esters
The idea is good but in my case the ice pack was melted and room temperature when it arrived.
These are worth the small cost. My yeast arrived nice and cool.
it was cold and reusable!
Does what it needs to. I’m close to the warehouse so only 1-1/2 days of transport. I cant report on longer “stay cold†times.
It was still reasonably cold when it arrived.
Cheap insurance for yeast order.
This was really good ice!
Get the ice bag ( ; it works as promised.
The ice packs are great when going long distances. However..life is great here in California with a distribution center in Pittsburgh California. One day delivery. I love it. Ice packs not needed????
It helps but in how weather it will not keep Yeast cool.
Ice had defrosted. Items weren't very cool.
Getting our order shipped to Central Texas with 100 degree weather is always a challenge for anything perishable. These ice packs, along with the insulated pouches, kept the yeast viable. In addition, they can be reused for other purposes. These are a very welcome addition to the shipment.
Worked! Seemed to keep the yeast fresh.
Single Ice pack kept the yeast cool for the 2 day shipping. Fermentation activity started within 4 hrs on yeast that was approx 1 month old. Temps were in the 60's during shipping, I'd use two in the summer.
Good protection at a fair price
Received shipment less then 48 hrs . l ordered during a nor-cal winter, so even though temps not perfect and ice packet was room temp, they stayed conducive to plan for a mixed-fermentation. Bugs will Be inoculated in a 15gal single vessel solera project with a blond ale on 3.5 oz French oak with lacto, Brux trios, and Brett-C. Hoping for stone and tropical fruit easters with oak on back palate, with minimal Brett funk finishing. Cheers!
Always better safe than sorry. Don't take chances with your liquid yeast. Cheap insurance.
Did the job and preserved ueast
The ice packets were awesome. Better than the fish store even.
Helped my yeast arrive nice and cool.I've also been keeping these to help cool my wort down in the sink. ;)
An ice pack is nothing fancy. However, if you're ordering liquid yeast and you care about viability, you need this. Don't order liquid yeast without at least one of these.
