The cylinder is clear and a good height for an SG bulb. The red base is threaded on so it is stable and secure. A drawback however is the paper inventory label which is placed right at the top where you need to see thru the tube to read your SG bulb. The sticker has to be removed with goo-gone or some other chemical I’d rather not use on my winemaking equipment. Nice design made faulty by poor choice of labeling.

It is basically clear where you can still read the numbers on the hydrometer... The real problem is that it is fragile and was broke upon arrival. I will buy a glass one at my local homebrew store now that this lockdown is over.

Its good and oversized for the average hydrometer. Plenty of room. I don't mind the extra space it takes and it works fine.

Good size, graduated and has a spout in case you want to pour a small sample. But DOES NOT SIT LEVEL! This makes it incredibly hard to get an accurate reading. I ordered two of them and neither is level.

Seems to be a better kind of plastic. I definitely wouldn't buy a glass test jar as this one gets knocked around a bit. I use it at least twice a week for all the different fermentations I have going.

Much better to have this type with the screw off base. Makes cleaning easier.

For small batch it is the perfect size, for me. Don't have to put too much fluid, just enough space in the thing to try and get the hydro from sticking to the sides.

I have always used glass hydrometer jars, and they have always broken, This plastic jar takes a bit of volume, but it is easy to read the hydrometer through the plastic and the base is solid -- doesn't fall down when you need it.

I picked this up to replace a glass one that broke on first use. It works well and does what it needs to do. The one part I don't know if I care for is that the bottom is the stand, that the tube screws onto the stand with a little soda bottle gasket. I felt like it was going to leak, but it didn't.

Nothing special but impact resistant plastic makes for a easy measure of SG

None of my other hydrometer sample jars have graduated markings. This will come in very useful in measuring my bourbon wood soaked oak chips in my next batch of Bourbon Barrel Milk Stout!

This clear plastic tube is fantastic! It holds liquids without leaking, remains vertical on flat surfaces, is practically transparent, and has marks on it that indicate how much liquid is in the tube. I would highly recommend this clear plastic tube to anyone who wishes to hold a column of liquid and view it's contents (and perhaps even an instrument floating in that liquid) from without. Highly recommended!

Perfect! I have used several times already and it fits my needs perfectly. The delivery time after my order was placed was very, very fast.

It's a hydrometer jar, it holds fluid, it works. That being said, while I like that you can unscrew the base for cleaning, it's very difficult to remove the plastic/rubber insert keeps it water tight. If the very bottom of the plastic base had a very small (maybe 1/8 inch) would allow something to be inserted from underneath to push out the rubber insert. It's a tiny suggestion, but without removing that insert, it can stay damp and get moldy underneath. But again, it's hard to get out without damaging it, needing to use a knife, to something very narrow

This is a pretty simple, straightforward tool. The base seems secure and it's worked well so far. If the base does come off, it can be resealed with silicone. Don't drop it though - that's why I had to replace my old one.

Nothing special other than it is a Hydrometer Jar, Plastic with a plastic base. The one I received does not sit flat on a table or surface, (not a huge issue, just take a razor and shave the bottom, a little bit). For the price, it works fine.If you need something quick and don't want to spend a few dollars more for one of the other Hydrometer Jar's, this would get my recommendation.

I've been using this for a couple years with zero issues. Bottom pulls off for cleaning and no leaning.

this is my favorite sample jar, its narrower than most so not as much wort is wasted. Also very easy to clean via the removable base.

This is a great little tool for taking hydrometer readings. Mine has never leaked.

Didn't read the reviews first. First time I used it beer leaked everywhere. After you unbox it make sure the base is screwed on tight. If ti is then it works like a charm.

you screw the base on tightly. This is the second one I bought because the cylinder from the first one rolled off the counter and cracked.
