I have had one of these timers for several years now (bought it from MoreBeer). It does its job and mine does give a distinct chime at the 5 minute mark and another at the end of the timed period. It measures in hours and minutes which makes it useful for other applications such as smoking meat, etc. I did mark it down one star, however, because it does not measure seconds. I understand that from a realistic point of view of the brewing process a few seconds difference is immaterial, but I do measure and time things as accurately as I can. Other than that, a very functional timer.

This is an easy to read timer due to its size. However I did not realize that it does not make any kind of noise once the time expires. This would have been nice to know before I bought it.
