Initially I was disappointed in this kit. It brewed up fine, but the flavor seemed thin and watered down. I have 7-8 different kegs on tap at any given time and this one I noticed I was barely drinking. However, once it hit the 6 week mark those flavors changed, mellowed and became one of my favorite porters, ever. Granted I'm a 6 month brewer and relatively "green" but this one is definitely worth trying, especially if you're patient and allow it to age some. Very, very good. Cheers!

The smell while brewing was amazing. However,, this turned out tasting more like an IPA porter to me. It is way too hoppy for me. The good news, all my IPA loving friends are getting this for the holidays.

I brew this one for my dad. It's the only "fancy" beer he likes.We live just south of Bend so the real deal is fresh and close. This kit nails it every time. one month in the primary and it's good to go.

This porter came out perfect for my preferences- drier, low alcohol and no crazy flavor additions. An excellent fall porter. I’d get this again.

This kit makes for a large bold stout and by adding extra malt the alcohol by volume should be in the mid to upper teens. Aging 2-6 months in a bourbon barrel can only be a better :-)

This beer reminds me of Deschutes Black Butte Porter. At the last min of the boil add fresh ground Espresso beans in a grain bag.
