I was looking for a low gravity Pale Ale to take the place of Founders All Day which is one of my go-to store-bought beers. I don't find the bigger kits balanced at all if you modify the recipe to bring the gravity down. Kits I get here I find have recipes with excellent balance just the way they are. That and a low abv narrowed the choices more or less down to this, so I tried it. I am now making my third batch of this. It's become a staple here on tap. My notes even say the first time I brewed this I was tempted to add some extra Magnum which I had here, because I thought this would be too wimpy as it comes. I resisted the urge and brewed the kit exactly as recommended and wimpy was not a problem.This beer is terrific young and equally fantastic when the keg kicks. Even though as with most beers, it goes through a transformation as it ages. I use a water profile that works out to 111 calcium, 18 magnesium, 25 sodium, 299 sulfate, 59 chloride and 8 bicarbonate. I also use a target mash pH of 5.3 and I've used phosphoric acid to achieve that. I have no intentions to change any parameters on this beer.This stuff will even convince your non-ipa friends to broaden their horizons a little.

This is a very nice crushable pale ale, with wonderful citrus notes. Loved it.

I brewed this delightful ale a month ago. I added a pound more 2 row malt and increased the dry hopped Citra to 3 oz from kit 1 oz (I like Citra) and used only two days dry hopping right before cold crash. I also reduced the late addition Citra in boil since I'm more interested in aroma than bitterness (calculated 47 IBU). I got OG of 1.0504 and FG of 1.0080 using US-05 and some glucoamylase in mash to reduce complex sugars and increase dryness. Results are very tasty. Just pouring it from the keg you can smell the aroma and boy does it make you thirsty. It's gonna be a good summer.

Having a brother who has brewed amazing beer for years I figured it was time to learn and this kit was my first ever purchase. This is exactly what I was looking for in a drinkable all day session ale. Very crisp, low bitterness and packed with a citrusy punch for the nose and mouth. BIAB then fermented for 13 days then force carb’d in the corny. I’m so impressed and can’t wait for friends and family to try this tomorrow during the super bowl! This beer will probably be a regular in the keezer!

This is a great beer, no way you can go wrong with it, everybody (including non craft beer drinkers) will love it.

Nice with very flavorful hops

I made this for a party of "non-beer drinkers" and they all loved it. Did not get one bad review. Even my neighbor that only drinks light american domestics came back for a second pint.

Turned out fantastic! The Citra came through beautifully, But be careful on your Efficiency, I hit 6.2 ABV, a little high on a session.

Easy drinking with the citra hops coming through fairly strong. Great all around beer for when your feeling hoppy.

Carbonating right now, tasted awesome after 11 days in primary

kegged it yesterday and pulled a few ozs off to make some head space as i had about 5.5 gallons in the fermentor that overflowed my keg .... super good. came out at 5.6%.

This kit is a home run! I brew 2.5 gallon batches so I just split this kit in 2. I fermented 1 batch with Wyeast 1272 and the other with US-05. Both are outstanding!

Nothing wrong with the kit - but it is even lighter than I thought & I would prefer a little more citra.

I always thought session beers where a joke until I made this. Lots of flavor and you can drink beer for beer with your bud light buddies. This has become a regular on one of my home taps.

Made this all grain kit because I like to have a beer around that I can drink a few of in one sitting and not get hammered. Very simple recipe to make and came out very nice. Great citrus aroma with a good looking light amber color. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted something with that IPA aroma but easy drinkability.
