Its been great . Needed a step bit to drill pot. Easy install after rhat. Two brews and the herms is less hassle and sits lower in the tank. Easy to clean in place too

Even thou it was a small batch for the first usage it work great. The tap water was a little warm (71 f) but still it did great.

I haven't finished building my electric HLT yet but I purchased this HERMS coil to maintain temperatures in my mash tun. With 29 years experience home brewing and building home brew equipment, I have no doubt this is the correct coil to achieve adequate temp control. I am in the process of converting to all electric equipment and a complete new system. This coil is an important piece to complete the build.

Great system. Just make sure to measure your drill size first as thread size isn’t the same as hole saw size

So I haven’t actually used this to brew yet. Did a wet run with just water. I know it’s going to step my brewing game up though. I bought the large coil and installed it on a homemade keggle. The ribs on the keg were just barely outside the measurements for drilling holes for installation which meant I had to bend and wiggle it a little in order to get the washers to seat correctly. Which reminds me... I installed the washers from the inside. Two schools of thought on that but my logic was, fire on the outside, washer on the inside. It works.

I went back and forth on whether to try to make my own with bulk tubing and compression bulkhead fittings but I ultimately decided that this was the most cost/time-effective solution available. It installed easily, the fittings are high quality and it's plenty large enough to step mash on 10 gallon batches. I'm glad I didn't mess around with trying to build my own because I probably would have wasted $200 and 8 hours of my life by the time I was done.

Installation was simple but had to add washers and gadgets to the installation that where not included. Four stars is because nut that fastens to outside of pot should be larger or include a washer with hardware for instalation.

It works exactly as it should. No leaks, and built well.
