This is a great summer beer. The raspberry is a great flavor. However, I want to try this with a blueberry fruit flavoring instead. However, this kit is a great buy. Highly recommended for a newer brewer.

* * * READ * * * This beer came out as advertised and if your looking for a berry brew you'll love it. However, if your looking for a brew with just a hit of berry. I'd suggest only adding HALF the flavoring recommended and give it a taste. You can always add more. Other than that, two thumbs up !!

I've made this twice now. once with the berry extract in it and once without... The berry flavor is is good but that's not what I prefer in my beer. however the girls loved it! I prfered this brew without the berry additive. just plain... tastes like a good cream ale to me...Absolutely, hands down tastes way better with a month or more time in the bottle. it was good after two weeks but even better with age.

I love raspberry wheat beer .. the reason I got into home brewing is so I can make this beer. I find shocktop too sweet; too much raspberry flavoring. More Beer said to start with 1oz of flavoring and another brewer shop said use all 4oz .. I used 2oz of the flavoring and it was just right .. you could still taste the wheat beer with a hint of raspberry flavoring .. so far I am getting alot of positive feed back. I put the flavoring in when I add my priming sugar before bottling, give it a light stir then I start bottling and wait 2 weeks :-)

This kit was great. I was hesitant at first because the berry flavor of a different kit that I used a few years earlier did not come through. However, after using the entire berry bottle in this kit (added post-fermentation process during the racking process), the taste was awesome. It wasn't overly fruity even using the entire bottle. We enjoyed it throughout the summer of '13 and will definitely brew it again for summer '14.

I love a Raspberry ale. Shock Top I thought was good but a little sweet for my liking. This recipe is well balanced. Not overly hopped or heavy on the berry extract. It comes with a 4 oz. bottle of berry extract that is just perfect for a five gallon batch. 1 week primary and 1 week secondary, and a week and a half in the bottle and you get darn near a perfect brew. Very drinkable and a good summer ale! I highly recommend this kit!

This was the first beer my buddy Rob and I made from here. We nick named it Buzz Berry Beer due in part to the high ABV as we added extra dry rice sugar. I have made several other brands of Raspberry Beers and none of them compares to this one. One of my favorites of all time.

Followed the directions to a tee. I actually used the whole bottle of extract and it has a hint of berry, which is ok because I think any more and it might have been too much. The girls love it. Nice cloudiness and rounded finish.

Even though it has a darker amber color, it drank like a light beer. It was a nice change up from the usual hoppy, or heferwizen beers I often brew. If your one of those beer drinkers that needs a hoppy beer or doesn't like a sweet fruit taste then this isn't for you. Big hit with the girls at the party, if that's not a reason to try it then I don't know what is.

First ever review, but worth it. I did this kit a while back now. The co-worker loved it. I put it in my primary for 1 week 2 week in the secondary. I waited to add the berry flavor until bottling, added a few drops per bottle, WOW!!!! Made all the difference...I have had some in the past where there wasn't much flavor to the beer. This one was definitely different. Definitely go with the Wyeast...I also used the wyeast starter with 10 minutes left in the boil as well as some irish moss to clarify the beer. You should try it now...

I really enjoyed this one. Typical extract brew but the balance of ingredients is pretty much spot on. I've shared with several people and everyone agrees its a fantastic drinking beer. Going to brew another batch but sub in Blueberry for the Raspberry and only use 3/4 of the extract. I'd rather it be a hint of berry flavor in an otherwise good Hef.

A signature beer of my line up and was made for my wedding and wedding gifts. An excellent crowd pleaser with crisp refreshing taste and by far my wife's favorite. I've purchased this kit multiple times and each time I'm glad I did. I brew extract, 1 week primary, 2 weeks secondary, ~2-4 weeks in bottle/keg or longer depending on need. I recommend the American Wyeast for this brew - never had much luck with the White Labs.
