Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

        Good one!

Very drinkable Belgian style ale. One of my favorites to brew, will be brewing this one regularly. Most who like Belgian ales like this one a lot.

Fantastic - Very drinkable and full of complex flavor

Been brewing for less than a year now and this Belgian Pale turns out to be one of my favorites. I was looking to try something different and the Belgian Pale turned out surprisingly awesome. The Caramunich and Special B steeping grains give this beer a nice copper color and the low hops allow you to taste the complexity in the malt which gives a nice almost raisin-like maltyness. The hops and yeast add a fruity and spicy and flavor with floral and herbal notes. Very drinkable with a creamy, yet dry finish. After finishing a glass my palate craved another. My ABV calculations yielded 5.5% so this has enough alcohol to get the job done without getting you hammered. The color was a bit hazy and not clear, but that is most likely due to my shorter fermentation and cold crash times (see below)I am so impressed with this Belgian Pale Ale that I've started a Belgian Ale just to begin playing around with the malt, hops and yeast variations in the Belgian style. I never really drank Belgian ales much, but now I'm hooked.Brewed this per the instructions. 2.5 gallon partial wort boil, added 2.5 gallons cold water to fermentor along with some Fermcap-S to keep from blowing off (5.5 Gallon Speidel fermentor doesn't leave much head space). Added the corn sugar at last 10 minutes of boil. Pitched liquid WLP-530 Abbey Ale yeast at 84 degrees F. Fermented for only 6 days at 72 F. Cold crashed at 36F for 36 hours, kegged and force carbonated.

        Nice Belgian

I brewed as recommended, but replaced the corn sugar with a lb. of Candi syrup 45. This is very drinkable with the Trappist yeast and malt being the main flavor profile. This makes for a very economical Belgian ale.

Really good. Now my second most favorite behind Dunkelweizen.

        A Decent Pale Ale

Not a fan of Belgian ales, I brewed this for an friend who was. Obviously, I had my share too. It had a palatable bitterness and sweetness balance, and I used WLP550 Yeast. I like great head retention, so I was satisfied with my final product by using 8 oz Lactose last 15 min. boil and 4 oz Maltodextrin the last 10 min of boil. As always stated, a good month or so of conditioning improved its flavor.

A very good Belgian Pale Ale

A very affordable kit. I used Safbrew S33 dry yeast. The beer has a nice balance of bitterness, sweetness, and spice. I will be making this one again!

Good inexpensive kit, tastes like a belgian - does like more time to mellow

I agree with the poster above, initial Banana and bubble gum is strong with this one. But lucky for me I'm busy. I let primary go for 2 weeks, secondary for 3. It's lost much of its "Banana runt" flavor, and has cleared quite well. Uncarbed it tastes like a Belgian, looking forward to it soon.I'm in the process of trying all ~ $30 kits from Morebeer, and this is #2 of 4. Renegade Rye is other that was done..and gone in a month. (Excellent!)I have the Kolsch and APA II going right now.But if you like Belgians, my wife does!, and want a quick and inexpensive option for the cost of 7/8 of bud...this should be on your list!

        a good Belgian

I am not a huge fan of Belgian ales. I tasted this one after a few weeks in the bottle. It was as to be expected, all banana and bubblegum. I waited another month and it was palatable. Remember to give this enough conditioning time, about 2 months, then you'll enjoy it.

        Wow, this is really good

I have brewed about 12 different extract Kits from more beer and this defiantly ranks on top of the others I have brewed. I left in primary for three weeks, conditioned in bottles for 14 days and had to try one with tonight. I will let some of them age a little, but with this brew it might be hard to just see it sitting on the shelf without drinking it.

        Belgian Pale Ale Good

This was my first extract kit from Morebeer back in August, 2012. Used the dry Safbrew S-33 and loved the flavor contribution. Beer was very good: spicy, raisiny, with touch of pear. It did not hold much head. Time to brew it again, and will include 2-3 oz of maltodextrin, which works well in my brews for better head retention when carapils is not enough.
