        Works great but...

One of the four clips at the top that hold the lid sealed was not positioned properly. Had to modify it in order to get a good seal.Still happy with it as the price was great vs the value. Wasn't built as well as I would have hoped though.

Anvil 7.5 gallon fermenter, so close to 5 stars.

Excellent fermenter, I withheld one star due to one of the latches being misaligned (it requires a shim under the latch). Other than that it’s great, easy to clean and drains perfectly!

        Love it!

I've been using the fermenter as a secondary bucket. It's really nice because the trub and other bi-products cling to the sides and bottom of the stainless. The valve allows for easy dumping straight to a key. Super easy to clean. Not the thickest stainless but, it really doesn't need to be. I'd buy one again in a heartbeat if I had a multiple brews going at a time!

        Bought 3

Best thing I've ever bought for beer brewing hands down. Bought 3 of them.

        Good product, I own 2.

Very well made, protects wort from any light sources. This make a great secondary fermenter, and great for layering.

        This is a great fermenter

This is a great fermenter. I have bought 2. The only issue I have is the volume markings of the fermenter are off by about 1 quart. On mine if the volume markers indicate 4 3/4 gallons it is in fact a measured 5 gallons. This is not a big deal to me as I use the volume markings on my BrewTech 10 gallon kettle, which are correct.

Great build quality, could be a bit taller.

Item has good build quality but is a little short compared to other SS kettles, this tends to only be an issue with heating wraps/ferm wraps. Just something to keep in mind.

Looking at upgrading my fermenter. How well does the lid seal on this product? Is it also easy to transfer to a keg without too much yeast sediment getting transfered? I have a Catalyst and I just brewed with a pretty aggressive stain of yeast and it started to bubbling out the sides of the lid. Now knowing that my fermenter is about 6.5 gallon and this Anvil is 7.5 gallon.

Can you harvest yeast with this fermenter?

        MoreBeer!

When I make wine there is a ring of spent yeast at the top of the fermenter on the inside after the first ferment. I don’t try to harvest that yeast because there is also bentonite with the first ferment. If you only have yeast and no other additions like oak or bentonite or other flavorings I suppose you could collect the spent yeast from inside the top of the fermenter. If you’re doing a beer or other malted beverage I’m not sure if it would be possible.

        MoreBeer!

Yes. I have harvested yeast many times. You have to dump the trub to another vessel but it’s easy to do.
