If I was told I could only have one base malt in my brewery, this would be it. It works for pretty much everything. Light lager lovers may think it is too dark but that is what Pils malt is for. You can also just add more corn and rice to lighten the color and body. Adds great flavor when match with flaked corn in an adjunct beer.This is great all around malt. Flavorful, good diastatic power, and easy lautering. I love it for most ale, lager, and hybrid styles.

A 2-row base with extra character. When I'm not using Maris Otter, I use this. Good extract, great, almost toasty, taste. Love this malt.

This malt is killer! Very similar to a british pale malt, but so much less expensive! I use it in place of Golden Promise in a Scottish light ale, and it's great!

Use for most of my American Style Ales.

I would give it 5 stars but there is a lot of chaff and small rocks (2 so far) in it. Otherwise it makes good beer.

Great adjunct for my grain bill

A SOLID pale malt that's useful across nearly any beer style. If you're looking for a malt that provides a little more malt character than none - like most US 2rows - then this is what you want. Simple enough character for a blonde and still a solid enough base for a bitter. I almost hate giving is such kudos because if more people buy it then GW or MB may raise the price :D

So far, I am very happy with my results brewing with Great Western Pale Malt. Though I have yet to taste the results, I'm sure they will be as impressive as other Great Western malts I have brewed with.

Tried this for the first time with a double IPA and didn't add any specialty malts---very pleased with the results. 15 lbs with amarillo,mosiac and citra late boil additons---heavy dry hop---MMMMM!!!

Used this malt on a Blonde and it came out great. Awesome color and just a hint of malt flavor. Want to try this with a Pale ale one day.

I love that their malt is priced right, and adds a little more color and a unique flavor. I use it frequently.

I like the slightly maltier flavor for pale ales than I get with just regular 2-row malt.

This is a fantastic base malt for nearly every beer. Has a good malty profile, wonderful in any American beer and tasty enough by itself to do English and Belgian ales as well. This is my go-to base malt for almost everything.

This malt works very well for pale ales and bitters. The malt has depth and will enhance your beers.

This is a great base grain if you want to do a SMASH beer or want to get a fuller bodied maltier beer without adding too much specialty malts. Nice color and rich flavor.
