A clarifier that has received attention on The Brewing Network and is used by several of our commercial brewer friends. While beers cloud for different reasons and there is not one silver bullet to clear all beers, Biofine has proven effective in most situations. It is an easy way to help ensure clarity without having to filter. Biofine strips out all remaining yeast in 24-48 hours! Speeds up the aging and clarify process by 2-3 weeks! You'll find a layer of darker yeast that settles on top of your yeast bed in your fermenter. This layer is thicker than normal and acts as a blanket. This settling process avoids your yeast from being disturbed as you move your carboy. Biofine brings out maltiness and accentuates esters produced by yeast. Biofine Clear is a purified colloidal solution of silicic acid (SiO2) in water that has been specially formulated for the rapid sedimentation of yeast and other haze forming particles in beer. (Vegan friendly - no animal products) Shelf life is 24 months from date of manufacture, unopened. Dosage Rates: 1/4 Tbsp (3.6 ml or 1/10oz) to as much as 2 Tbsp (29.5 ml or 1 fluid oz.) per 5 gallon batch of beer. Store in cool, dry conditions above 41 degrees F and do not allow the product to freeze. Some beer styles don't react with certain dose rates. You may have to add more to have an effect. We recommend starting small and increasing your dosage rates once per day until clarification takes place. Like Biofine Clear Clarifier? Then you will love CellarScience® SilaFine!
Biotin Powder – Yeast Nutrient
Overview
Biotin (Vitamin B7) is an essential cofactor that supports yeast metabolism and healthy fermentation. It plays a key role in fatty acid synthesis, amino acid metabolism, and energy production—processes that directly impact yeast vitality, alcohol tolerance, and fermentation completeness.
Why It Matters
Most malt-based worts naturally contain biotin, but grape must, honey, or sugar-based fermentations (like cider, mead, or hard seltzer) are often deficient. In these nutrient-poor environments, yeast can struggle to reproduce and may produce higher levels of unwanted byproducts such as hydrogen sulfide or volatile acidity.
Supplementing with biotin ensures robust yeast growth, faster fermentation starts, and cleaner flavor profiles.
When to Use
Wine & Mead: Add at yeast rehydration or early fermentation.
Cider & Hard Seltzer: Add with your complete yeast nutrient blend.
Beer: Useful for high-adjunct or sugar-heavy recipes.
Usage Rate
Use 0.1–0.5 mg per 5 gallons (19 L), or according to your nutrient formulation.
Key Benefits
Promotes strong yeast growth and vitality
Supports complete attenuation
Reduces the risk of sluggish or stuck fermentations
Enhances fermentation consistency in low-nutrient media
19-27 °L - Dingemans Malting - Dingemans Biscuit - This toasted malt will provide a warm bread or biscuit flavor and aroma and will lend a garnet-brown color. Use 5-15% maximum.
Bitter orange peel is a great way to give your Witbier style brews a traditional citrus infusion!
Sourced from bitter orange varieties, Bitter Orange Peel adds a mild citrus aroma and flavor to your homemade beer. This is the traditional ingredient used to add orange character to Belgian witbiers, and so is the best choice for clone recipes. Imparts a slightly different flavor than Sweet Orange Peel, which is sourced from sweet tasting orange varieties.
500° L - Briess Malting - Has a sharper flavor than other roasted grains. A dark malt for use in Porters and the occasional Stout. Often used to provide color without overpowering flavor that is characteristic of European-style dark beers.

MoreBeer! is proud to release this Black IPA recipe designed by our local homebrew Club DOZE. This black IPA recipe has been coined the name as 'Diablo Dark Ale' in honor of our resident Mt. Diablo. Here is where the Diablo Order of Zymurical Enthusiasts brew at the foothills fine tuning their homebrew recipes and sharing their passion for making great beer at home.
After winning the AHA Homebrew Club Of The Year in 2010, the Diablo Order Of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE) put their minds together to collectively craft a beer they felt representative of the club and its brewers. The initiative was taken on as an all club project that spanned 5 months. In the end, over 50 members contributed ideas to this recipe and nearly 40 individual batches brewed by 23 DOZE members were tasted and refined to a single recipe. This beer is inspired by the style many refer to as Cascadian Dark Ale or Black IPA, however it is not intended to fit the mold of any particular guideline. Mostly it is big, dark, hoppy, and delicious.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.
488-563 °L - Viking Malt - Viking Black Malt is produced by roasting pilsner malt. Final temperature is more than 392˚F. The amylolytic activity of Black Malt is zero. The amount of fermentable extract is low. The flavor of Black Malt is harsh but less acrid than that of roasted barley. Burnt and smoky flavors are strong.
Black Malt is used in dark beers like stouts and porters, mainly for its strong coloring ability. Normally portions 1–2% give a remarkable increase in color without significant change in flavor. By raising the percentage of Black Malt in malt bill the changes in taste can be found quickly. Dosage rates more than 10% are rare.
In 2016 Viking Malt and Danish Malting Group joined forces to better serve their customers. Now the new Viking Malt is the leading malting company in Northern Europe and supply raw materials and services to the global brewing, distilling and food industries. Viking Malt has 6 malthouses in areas where our distinctive Nordic barley is sourced: in Halmstad, Sweden; Vordingborg, Denmark; Lahti, Finland; Panevezys, Lithuania and in Sierpc and Strzegom, Poland. The annual malting capacity is close to 600 kilotons.

Commercial quality beer bottle caps to keep your brew safe and sound from bottling day until you're ready to enjoy it. You will get a good firm seal that will last through transport, gift giving, and storage with these black bottle caps. These bottle caps crimp down onto the beer bottle and make a firm seal. They don’t rust or leak and they contain an Oxygen absorbing agent in the liner, which means you won’t get any unwanted oxidation. A good value for a great product.
26 mm diameter caps fit American bottles. Some imported bottles and some sparkling wine bottles use a 29 mm cap instead. We recommend test fitting prior to filling if you're re-using an imported bottle.
Important to note: It is recommended that you only sanitize as many caps as you'll require at the time of bottling. The oxygen-absorbing agent is activated when the cap gets wet. If wetted caps are saved for later use, they'll still function as a normal cap, but the oxygen absorbing agent may be depleted.
Due to high demand, the case size is currently out of stock. Be the first to receive your items by placing a pre-order today. We will automatically ship this to you when we receive more in mid October.
Extra wide 29mm crown caps
Used for capping magnum champagne bottles and other specialty bottles with a wider neck opening
Oxygen barrier liner protects your beverage from oxygen ingress
For magnum champagne and other specialty bottles that require a 29mm crown cap. They feature an oxygen barrier liner that helps protect your beverage from oxygen ingress after capping.
These bottle caps are not compatible with standard beer bottles.

High-capacity, commercial-grade stainless steel fruit press Bladder press offers an effortless process that is more efficient and gentler on the fruit Can be used with 3/4 hose and water supply that provides at least 36 psi of pressure Rotating basket allows for easy disposal of the pressed grapes Mounted to welded frame with rolling casters for smooth mobility around the winery Made in Italy by Marchisio Bladder presses offer a gentler yet more efficient press with less operator effort and the ultimate in press-control. You will extract more juice and less tannins. Attach your water supply line to the 3/4" barbed water inlet at the base of the unit. Water fills up the interior rubber bladder which expands and presses the grapes against the outer stainless steel screen. 35 p.s.i water pressure (2.5 bar) is the maximum pressure you would need to operate. Two sleeves are provided with the press. One a mesh sleeve is placed inside the press and the other is an outer plastic sleeve that is placed over the top of the press to keep the pressed fruit from squirting out. After pressing, the entire stainless basket rotates and the inner mesh sleeve can be pulled out with most of the pressed grapes coming with it. We use this press in our own small production. A platform was built for the press to sit on so that when we rotate the basket we can dump directly into a macrobin. Use a must pump to pump up into the press. In each press load we do approximately 110 gallons of red wine must (letting free run on through) which works out to be about 3/4 of a macrobin. We can press 7 tons of fruit in a long day. 80 gallon capacity (not including bladder.) 85" Overall height with a basket diameter of 25.5". A great press for the small winery. We used this press in 2004 to press 7 tons of cabernet. A local winery used two of them side by side to press over 50 tons. A joy to use. Download the PDF FAQ: Can the press be operated with air pressure? No. These are hydraulic presses that may only be operated with water. When operating with compressed air, there is a risk of explosion and a very high risk of injury if the membrane bursts due to excess pressure or damage. Is a minimum water pressure required? In order to ensure the function and the best possible yield, there should be a minimum water pressure of 2-2.5 bar on the press. What if the water supply delivers more than 3 bar? In principle, this is not a problem, as if the water pressure inside the press exceeds 3 bar, the pressure relief valve opens and there is no pressure-related damage. How many apples make how much juice? On average, 50kg (110 lbs) of apples produce around 30-35L (8-9 gal) of juice, depending on the variety and quality of the apples.
The Blast bottle washer, made by Fermtech, allows you to easily wash bottles, carboys, tubing, and more. Attach to any faucet with a garden hose thread, or to a sink with the CE21 faucet adapter, and turn on the water. The Blast will only spray water when you push down on the the nozzle. Because the nozzle reduces to a small diameter it can be used to clean narrow items such as tubing lines Instructional video
